Sweaty Feet-- a medical condition?!

If it is more than just regular sweating during physical activity you may have a condition called. hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is defined as abnormal excessive sweating that is not associated with exercise. It can cause anxiety in social settings and embarrassment. It can put you at increased risk for fungal infections of the skin. Hyperhidrosis can be focal (in one body area) or generalized.

There are several treatments. In addition to absorbent powders, there are solutions, oral medication and even local injectables like Botox that are very effective against hyperhidrosis. For example, here at Advanced Foot and Ankle we sometimes use Aarica as part of the treatment. Aarica is a topical roll-on when used correctly halts sweat on feet.
