Plantar fibromas are bumps or firm nodules on the sole of the feet- within the plantar fascia, typically in the arch of the foot.
Causes are unknown. There is a greater risk for development if you are of Northern European decent, are diabetic or take certain suppliments or blood pressure medication.
If they are painful or large you should seek treament.
Treatment options can vary. Cold laser in combination with orthotics and prescription topicals have been successful.
If you think you have a plantar fibroma please call the office to have an evaluation.
