Dr. Jan M. Veloso earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his medical degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University. He was the recipient of multiple merit scholarships including the Dr. Howard M. Bers Memorial Half Tuition Scholarship and the National Institute of Health Research Grant to study the regulating effects of CCN2/3 and fibrosis.
Dr. Veloso completed his three year foot and ankle surgical residency at Norton Hospital in Lousiville, Kentucky with emphasis in high volume surgical training. Norton hospital is one of the top 10 largest non-profit hospitals in the United States. Dr. Veloso recieved extensive training in trauma and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Veloso has special training and interest in foot and ankle fractures, flat foot reconstruction, and arthroscopic surgery. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach with the goal of improving quality of life and return to function. With his extensive training, Dr. Veloso understands the demands of surgery and emphasizes conservative and preventative care as a first line treament.
During his free time Dr. Veloso enjoys spending time with his wife Rene and their two dogs, Oliver and Finn. He is excited to relocate here to the DFW area and work with the Advanced Foot and Ankle Center team!
